hi,
regarding the stuff of the unproto messages or called broadcast messages. in
bcm we have those feature only for PM (user mail) and not for bulletin. For
me, some unproto for a new bulletin makes no sense, even more useless traffic
on the frequency.

Another interesting thing would be, how many bbs today really have that like
great HF connection as OE5XBL for example has?

on 2m: 1200/2400 bd afsk
on 70cm: 1200/2400 bd afsk and 4800/9600 bd fsk

Although this good connectivity to HF we have the situation that rarely users
are permanent QRV on the frequency for listening some unproto messages if
they have mail or even new bulletins are available.

More sense in these days would make a connection to the APRS network. If for
some user a new mail arrives, send him/her an APRS message with "you have
maik @ ...".

best 73,
hannes
