IW2OHX packet gateway (Bollate, JN45NN) - new configuration

On 31 October 2026 the AX.25 gateway iw2ohx-gw (Raspberry Pi 4,
Linux) was rebuilt in two steps.
1) URONode retired - LinBPQ IW2OHX-13 is the node

URONode is gone, and with it the callsigns IW2OHX-7, IW2OHX-3 (flexnetd)
and OHXGW:IW2OHX-1 (kernel NET/ROM). Please update your routes and
scripts: the node on the gateway is now
IW2OHX-13 alias BPQBOL (LinBPQ 6.0.26 + FlexNet, linbpq-flexnet)
It speaks AX.25, NET/ROM and FlexNet. The old URONode services are
commands at the BPQBOL prompt:

2) No more kernel AX.25 - WAMPES is the connector

The Linux kernel drops its AX.25 stack in 7.1. The gateway does not
use it any more. WAMPES (DL9SAU's unix-ax25-stack) runs as IW2OHX-2
in userspace. It is a connector, not a node: LinBPQ does all the
routing, and WAMPES only hands AX.25 sessions to Linux programs (ax25d,
DXSpider, the shell login) through userspace libax25. It talks AXUDP to
IW2OHX-13 on loopback and to IW2OHX-12 on the LAN, and has its own IP
addresses: 44.134.24.8 (44Net) and 44.144.128.135 (HAMNET).

Log in with your callsign (SSID allowed) and your password. The gateway
then connects you to IW2OHX-13 as AX.25 from YOUR callsign, through
WAMPES. You are at the BPQBOL prompt as if you had come in by radio.
Accounts are given on request (send a personal message to IW2OHX).
Sources outside 44Net/HAMNET are dropped. Five wrong passwords lock the
account for 15 minutes. The password crosses the network in clear:
use the SSH gateway if you have it.
Problems, routes that do not work any more, or a request for an
account: personal message to IW2OHX @ IW2OHX.
