WIA AGM a great success

The Bendigo Technology Festival and WIA AGM
Feedback since the technology festival weekend and WIA AGM has determined that the weekend event was a resounding success.
On friday night 2nd May members met with the Board for a social networking evening at the sports bar of the historic SHAMROCK HOTEL in Bendigo.
Saturday morning was free for members to visit Bendigo and surrounds. There was an amazing display at the local Museum and Art Gallery and I know many took the opportunity to visit.
Saturday afternoon was the WIA AGM This was very well attended with more people than registrations. The secretary is currently going through and writing up the minutes to be published shortly. A most interesting General Business section went on for well over an hour answering questions on notice.
A full transcript of the questions on notice and subsequent answers will be published shortly.
The Gala Dinner on saturday night was also a sell out event with over 100 pax in attendance. The evening was rounded off with a ARISS contact with astronaut Takaya Onishi KF5LKS and students from Girton Grammar School Bendigo. That contact is something the students will remember for a long time to come. Hopefully the BAREC will get some new student members out of the occasion.
Sunday saw the fantastic Technology Expo hosted by BAREC club. The venue was very large and stall holders were able to park under cover adjacent to their table.
A farmers market was underway next door and food was a plenty.
We look forward to announcing the venue for next years AGM and Expo shortly.
